We are pleased to announce that FINANCIAL FREEDOM ADVISORS IS launching a new Financial Literacy program aimed at helping adults and teens.
We are the only husband and wife team of Certified Financial Planners™ in Connecticut with over 52 years experience helping others with their finances. Our financial planning and investment management practice serves a small, independent clientele of likeminded individuals. As of May 2009, we have closed our financial planning practice to new clients.
We have redirected the resources of our practice so that we may focus on contributing to a financial literacy movement here in Connecticut. We have learned through recent history that many people do not understand the complexities of financial management, and thus are destined to make poor and costly financial choices. As frontline witnesses to the market collapse of 2008-2009 and the corresponding Great Recession, we have vowed to help prevent future generations from suffering a similar calamity.
The consequences and effects of financial and economic illiteracy can be disastrous to the present and future of individuals, families, institutions, and the nation; and we need to address this crisis in a very serious way. Economic and financial literacy is not something we were born with -- it is learned behavior. And it is proven that children who have learned prudent financial habits from their parents, or teachers, are better prepared to make sound financial decisions as adults. Accordingly, our first venture towards accomplishing our goal is the Money Skills Boot Camp for Teens.
