Most investors have no idea where their money ends up. Yes, perhaps we know the name of the mutual fund we are invested in, perhaps the money manager who runs it. However, we may not be aware that our money gets pooled with thousands or hundreds of thousands of other investors. This money is then invested in companies that do business all around the globe. Unfortunately, some of this money gets invested in companies that operate and profit in countries that flaunt human rights. Further, some of these companies produce products that some believe damages the fabric of our life, either through smoking, weapons, sweatshops, global warming, discrimination, etc.
